Morocco Atlas Tour – 7 days

Morocco Atlas Tour – 7 days

Who is this 7-day trip to the Atlas Mountains in Morocco for?

This 8-day trip through the Atlas of Morocco, is for nature lovers looking for a route a little different from the usual in Morocco. We leave Marrakech in the direction of the High Atlas to reach the Aït Bouguemez valley. 4 hours of driving through high mountain villages and simply spectacular landscapes. We will hardly see groups of tourists during the trip, since it is an area far from the main tourist circuits. During the drive we will see the immensity of the Atlas crossing small villages. From the Aït Bouguemez Valley, known as the Happy Valley, we will continue crossing the Atlas until we reach the Valley of the Roses, passing through the gorges of Amejgag, gorges with almost no tourists where we can enjoy the tranquility that we do not find in other gorges.

In the Valley of the Roses, we can sleep inside a Ksar and enjoy the beautiful surroundings and again, with little influx of tourists.

We will close the trip to the Atlas, making a circular route through the southern part, to visit Skoura, the kasbah Amridil, to continue north to the most famous Kasbah of Morocco (Ait Ben Haddou), and then instead of going up the national road, we will continue to Ounila Valley to see another of the wonderful valleys of the Atlas of Morocco.

We will cross the scenic Tizi n’Tichka road to reach Marrakech to close this wonderful journey through the Moroccan Atlas. Once in Marrakech, our guide will drop us off at the hotel or at the airport depending on our flight.

More nights can be spent in the High Atlas area if the traveler wishes to hike in the area.

What impact our travel to the Altas has on local communities

This trip through the Atlas Mountains in Morocco we will collaborate with several local communities. In Marrakech we will have lunch and a cooking course in a women’s NGO where they are dedicated to the training of women with few resources to offer them better working conditions in the future.

In the middle of the Atlas, we will visit an association that is dedicated to investing in the community so that the inhabitants can have better living conditions. Projects such as irrigation canals, channeling water to the houses, or the protection of the village from natural disasters such as torrential rains. A local guide of the village will take us to visit the projects and we will be able to make an excursion in this wonderful valley of the Atlas.

Finally, the days of the Atlas route, you will have a guide driver of the association of the Khorbat, a non-profit association dedicated to the preservation and improvement of the quality of life of its inhabitants. Although for a matter of route, we will not pass through this village, if you are interested in visiting the Khorbat you can see the route of the Kasbahs.
