This activity is for those who love sports and at the same time want to practice solidarity and sustainable tourism and at the same time are sporty people who like cycling, walking and a bit of adventure in general.

In 6 days of experience we will visit the NGO projects, but instead of going by car we will go with our bikes, like the locals. In Momella we will see all the projects that the NGO has. We will see with our own eyes where the money from our trip is going, in children who enjoy quality education in English, in women who make clothes and sell them, in young people who learn mechanics, or others who study sustainable tourism.

We will see and learn on foot one of the most important parks in Tanzania, the Arusha National Park where we will get close to the animals that live there, such as giraffes, zebras or elephants.

We will become Masai for a day and do what they do in their daily lives. We will be Masai for a day! With them, we will visit local villages, and they will open their doors for us to see where they live.

And since we like sports, we will go to a surprise viewpoint that will take us most of the day to get there and back. In the evening we can relax and watch the Maasai do their dance and then have dinner and go to sleep.

If you would like to add some safari days to your experience, please contact us without obligation.

Day 1

Pick up from Kilimanjaro Airport to Momella

We will be picked up from Kilimanjaro Airport and drive through rural Tanzania to Momella. Momella is situated at the foot of Mount Meru and very close to Arusha National Park. We will stay at Hillside Retreat, a beautiful NGO lodge.

    Day 2

We visit the NGO's projects by bike

After a delicious breakfast, we will take the mountain bike and start a tour around Momella to get to know the different solidarity projects that the NGO has. The projects we will be able to see are: the hospital, the orphanage, a clothing workshop that gives work to women, and finally the different schools that the NGO has, from primary to vocational training. We will have lunch at the NGO's restaurant in Momella, get our strength back and in the afternoon we will continue our bike tour along the Ngare Nanyuki River. During our bike tour we will be able to enjoy a beautiful sunset on the banks of the river. In the evening we will return to our accommodation in Momella where we will have dinner and go to sleep.

      Day 3

      Safari: Arusha National Park

We will visit Arusha National Park, where we will enter the mystical jungle inside the park. We will leave the car to walk inside the park, always with the company of our guide. During the visit we will be able to take a canoe and navigate through the park. We will be able to see giraffes, zebras, buffaloes and with a bit of luck elephants. We will have lunch inside the park. In the evening and before sunset, we return to Momella for dinner and bed.

        Day 4

        Like a Maasai

On our fourth day, we will become Maasai for the whole day. In the morning we will walk with them, on a typical Maasai trail, crossing villages and meeting locals who will invite us to visit their homes. We will finish the day at the Original Maasai Lodge, another of the lodges that the NGO has for hosting tourists. We will enjoy its surroundings, its swimming pool with views of the African savannah and from the rooms we will be able to see the majesty of Kilimanjaro, the highest mountain in Africa in front of us. In the evening, we will sit around a campfire with the Maasai who work at the lodge. We will share our experiences with them over a glass of wine or beer (not included in the price). We will then have dinner at the Original Maasai Lodge where we will also stay for the next few days.

          Day 5

          Excursion in a magical place

Our penultimate day consists of a hike of several hours to a secret viewpoint. This hike will take all morning and we will have food along the way and even the help of a donkey if we are unable to get there. Upon arrival at the lodge, we will dance with the Maasai, watch the sun go down behind Mount Meru and see how the sun's rays illuminate Kilimanjaro. Dinner and overnight at the Original Maasai Lodge.

            Day 6

            Bye Bye Masais

On our last day, we will be able to do or see what we may not have had time to do or want to come back and do again, such as seeing the children in the schools. We will then be driven to our chosen point to continue our journey, usually Arusha.
