6-Day Safari Itinerary: Combining Wildlife and Culture

Arrival in Tanzania: Visiting a Rural Area Far from the Tourist Circuits

Your 6-day Tanzania safari starts as you land at Kilimanjaro Airport, where we will be picked up in a 4×4 car. We will drive off the paved road and cross several villages and areas where we will see the real rural life of the Tanzanian interior.
Once in Momella, you’ll have the option to either rest and acclimatize or begin exploring the village. Your guide will adapt to your preferences, offering an introduction to the area. You’ll spend the night at Hillside Retreat, a peaceful eco-lodge nestled in nature.

The following day, after breakfast, we will explore the impactful projects of the local NGO in Momella. Visit schools, the orphanage, medical centers, and even a sewing workshop where you can purchase handcrafted items made by local women. After lunch under a majestic 30-meter tree, we’ll hike to the sacred Mount Mukuru, an area only accessible with permission from the local community. The day ends with another night at Hillside Retreat.

The Safari

The third and fourth days of your 6-day safari in Tanzania are dedicated to exploring two of the country’s most famous national parks. First, we visit Arusha National Park, known for its diverse landscapes, from rainforests to savannahs. You’ll encounter giraffes, buffalos, zebras, and possibly leopards and colobus monkeys.

On the fourth day, we head to Tarangire National Park, home to large herds of elephants and iconic baobab trees. With your private guide, you’ll spot lions, cheetahs, and an array of bird species.
