We start our 10 days in Tanzania and Zanzibar in the Kilimanjaro region, specifically at Kilimanjaro airport, bordering the Arusha region, where we will head to when we are picked up upon arrival. Our guide will wait for us there to go to Momella, a rural area where we will take advantage of the opportunity to relax and rest after the flight. We will see what Tanzania is like inland, more rural and outside the tourist areas, and we will be able to visit the projects of the NGO with which we collaborate, and to which most of the cost of your trip goes.
Depending on the time we arrive, depending on our flight, we will have more or less time to visit the schools, the orphanage, the medical center and be able to chat with the teachers and the children of the schools. An experience that we will not forget and that will give even more meaning to our trip. This project has been providing medical care, early childhood, primary and secondary education, and professional development support to the population for years, and if we want to get to know it in depth and see where the impact of our trip will end up, it is always possible to extend a day to do it more calmly. If we do so, we may even have time to visit a sacred Maasai mountain, accompanied by Maasai warriors, who will explain the functions of this place, the rituals that are celebrated there, and we can thus delve deeper into their culture (extending an extra day is optional, if you want to do it, tell us and we will inform you of the cost!)
After spending the first night in Momella, we will start a 3-day safari, with our guide and private car, which will take us to Tarangire Park, Lake Manyara and the famous Ngorongoro Crater. The adventure in the middle of nature begins here. We will see the most incredible wildlife in total freedom, and we assure you that you will be thrilled as soon as you arrive. Elephants, giraffes, wildebeests, buffaloes, lions or zebras. During the safari there are two options: camping or lodge accommodation (the price indicated in this tour is with camping accommodation. The lodge type accommodation has a price increase). Meals (full board) and water are included during the safari.
Once the safari is over, we will return to our lodge in Momella, where we will arrive for dinner and rest.
The next day, our guide will take us to Arusha Airport at the agreed time, from where we will fly to Zanzibar and spend the last days of our 10 days trip to Tanzania.
In Zanzibar, we will spend two nights in a 4-star hotel in Stone Town, where we will take the opportunity to get to know a city that has been declared a “Unesco World Heritage Site”. Once we finish our stay in Stone Town, a driver will take us to a beautiful hotel in Jambiani, where we will spend our last days of beach and relax in front of the beach. The hotel, a sustainable resort that takes care of even the smallest detail to protect the environment (its cabins even have a special natural paint that keeps the temperature cool to minimize the use of electrical ventilation systems)! This spectacular accommodation is located in front of the beach and has two outdoor swimming pools that will captivate you (one of them is below).
This 10 days trip to Tanzania and Zanzibar is ideal for those who do not have many days but want to disconnect from the day to day and enjoy both the wild nature with a safari and a few days on the beach at their leisure. It is a customizable trip that can be extended or modified according to our interests.
Today we start our safari in one of the most important national parks in Tanzania: Tarangire National Park. During the day, we will be able to start seeing the animals living in freedom inside the park and thanks to our private guide we will be able to set the pace of the safari. Possibility to sleep in camping or in a lodge. If it is camping, we will go with a cook, who will cook for us every day and our guide and another member of the team will set up the tents. You sleep on a small mattress. Full board accommodation
Today we visited Lake Manyara, one of our favourite places to see animals in the wild. Being a small park with a lake inside, it is relatively easy to see animals close to our car. We will enjoy a full morning game drive, have lunch inside the park and after lunch we will start our drive to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area where we will spend the night. Full board accommodation
Today we will visit one of the most spectacular places in Africa, the Ngorongoro Crater. The crater is 610 metres deep, about 260 square kilometres in size and was formed 2 to 3 million years ago when it exploded and collapsed in on itself. It was voted one of the Seven Natural Wonders of Africa, and today thousands of animals live in total freedom and harmony, including the Big Five. Walking down the walls of the volcano and going on a safari inside the crater is undoubtedly one of the most unique experiences in the world. In the afternoon, we will start our return to our accommodation in Momella. Full board accommodation
Today, if there is time, we can visit the remaining NGO projects before heading to the airport. Our guide will then take us to Arusha Airport, a smaller airport than Kilimanjaro, where we will catch our flight to Zanzibar. The price of the flight is not included in this trip, and must be purchased separately. Prices are usually around $100 per person, but can vary. Once we arrive in Zanzibar, a driver will pick us up and take us to the 4 star hotel in Stone Town. If there is time, we can stroll around the centre of the capital. Accommodation includes breakfast but full board is available on request.
Today we will spend the whole day visiting the capital of Zanzibar. We will be able to get lost in its streets, go into its painting and textile shops or stroll through its market and buy some of the spices so typical of this island. If you are fans of Freddie Mercury and Queen in general, you will know that the Queen singer was born in Zanzibar. That's why the city dedicates a museum to him in the centre of town, which you can visit after buying a ticket. Accommodation includes breakfast but full board is available on request.
Today we are moving again to one of our favourite hotels. An eco-resort in front of the sea with a relaxed atmosphere and an ethnic yet modern decor, where we can relax, read and enjoy its two swimming pools. The transfer between the two hotels is included in the price. Accommodation includes breakfast but full board is available.
Today we will have the whole day to enjoy our village and its beaches, or our accommodation, whatever our body desires. If we want, we can book activities, such as the blue safari to see dolphins and sandbanks, or rent a motorbike or a car and discover this wonderful island. Ask us if you want us to advise you where to go, what to see, what is more touristy or what is more alternative, etc.Accommodation includes breakfast but full board is available.
Today is our last day in Tanzania, and if we have not yet moved to other places on the island, it will be our last chance to go, for example, to Mtende Beach and eat a lobster in front of the sea. To get there, we will have to either hire a taxi or rent a motorbike. At Trip to Help, we will give you the necessary information so that you can hire or book the motorbike in advance.Accommodation includes breakfast but full board is available.
Our last breakfast in Jambiani, and our last hours on the island. Our driver will take us to Zanzibar Airport at the agreed time. In case the flight leaves very late, we will be allowed to enjoy the facilities during the day, but we will have to leave the room available for new travellers if there is another booking.
