Fall in love with Kenya on this 7-day safari to Lake Nakuru and the Maasai Mara. 7 days safari with our Maasai guides. We will visit two of the most beautiful places in Africa: Lake Nakuru and the famous Maasai Mara.
In addition, traveling with Trip to Help you will have a very different safari from any other typical and tourist safari, since it is the Maasai community, through an NGO, who organize the activities and dedicate the benefits of tourism to the social projects they have in the same community. This allows hundreds of children to receive quality education in English or to build wells to provide access to fresh water.
The 7 days Kenya safari in Nakuru and the Masai Mara starts in Nairobi, where our driver will pick us up to drive to the Masai Mara. We will cross the Rift Valley, where we will stop to take some pictures and then continue our journey. If we have left early, we will arrive at lunchtime at our accommodation in the Maasai Mara and after lunch, we will go on our first safari in the Maasai Mara.
During the first days of our 7-day Kenya safari tour, the Maasai will show us their territory, the Maasai Mara and more specifically, a Conservation Area in the Maasai Mara area, which they manage directly, and where they live in total contact with nature. There we will be able to see lions, cheetahs and other animals in the wild such as giraffes, wildebeests or hyenas.
We will also have time to visit a rhino sanctuary. which are guarded 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, due to the threat of poachers who are about to cause the extinction of this animal if it were not for the rangers and the absolute dedication they are given in these places, so that the species can survive.
We will visit a village of Maasai women who, thanks to the NGO, have a safe place to live with their children. They are women expelled from their respective families for various reasons, and that the NGO has given them a place to live. There we will see where they live, their “bomas”, which they have made with their own hands, and we will be able to see the handicrafts they make to sell, and thus, be able to have a livelihood for themselves and their children.
If our safari coincides with a Sunday, we will go to see a Maasai mass that is celebrated every Sunday in a nearby village, an unexpected place that combines the Christian religion with the ancestral beliefs of this tribe. We will also dedicate an afternoon to visit and play with the children of the NGO’s school next to our lodging, when they get out of their classes. We will be able to play soccer for example, dance, share songs or run and run playing tag, and we will see, in first person, how childhood is cared for in this corner of Kenya.
On the last two days of safari, we will head to Lake Nakuru National Park. One of the most beautiful lakes in Kenya where we will see hundreds of birds or the endangered Rothschild giraffe. That lake will remind us of the movie“Out of Africa”.
There we will do an afternoon safari and the next day, after breakfast, we will also have time in the morning to continue exploring the area.
As for lodging, during the 7 days of safari in Kenya, we will have two different accommodations. In the Maasai Mara, we will stay at the NGO’s lodge in the Lemek Conservation area. It is a set of glamping tents with private bathrooms and hot water, which has a team of people from the Maasai tribe, who will undoubtedly get into our hearts. From our lodge we can go on safari with Maasai guides, or see the different projects of the NGO. In the Nakuru area, we will be in a lodge with spectacular views, located on a hill that belongs to the western part of the Rift Valley.
The price of this safari per person is from 2,495 euros (traveling two people). Before confirming the trip, it is essential that you provide us with your exact dates so that we can offer you the final price according to the dates and hotel selected in Nakuru (there are several possible options).
There is the possibility of extending this 7-day safari by visiting other parks such as Samburu or Amboseli. Please contact us if you would like more information about the 7 day Kenya safari in Amboseli and Masai Mara, or about any extension.

A driver picks us up in Nairobi and we head to the Maasai Mara to start our 7-day safari on the Maasai Mara and Nakuru Lake. After lunch, we will do our first safari in the Maasai Mara.
Today we will dedicate all day to know the area, where we will do a day of safari for the Maasai Mara. Specifically, we will be in a conservation area within the Maasai Mara, a much quieter area, without so many tourists, and therefore with more animals than many areas of the National Reserve. Our Maasai guide will take us to see the biggest predators in the world like lions, which we can see up close since being in a conservation area, we will be able to approach and see the animals in more detail and dedicating more time and without haste than in the National Reserve of the Mara, where I do not know can get out of the way. To eat, we will stop at the best restaurant in the world, in the middle of the savannah, under a tree, and surrounded by nature. In addition we will be alone, there is no other tour operator that stops to eat there. It is a unique place, only us, the Masais and nature. After eating in that wonderful place, we will continue with our safari through the Maasai Mara.
On our third day in the Maasai Mara, we will visit a Maasai manyatta where women and children who have been expelled from their families live. The NGO gives them a safe place to live with their children. We will see where and how they live, we will know them and then they will teach us the handicrafts that they do to earn money. If we want, we’ll buy, otherwise we’ll go to our apartment and have lunch. After lunch, we will go to see two rhinos in a sanctuary where they are guarded 24 hours a day and 365 days a year. Then we will continue with our safari to see the sunset in the middle of the savannah. We’ll have a beer while watching one of the best sunsets we’ve ever seen.
On our fourth day of safari in the Maasai Mara, we will get up early for a safari on foot through the savannah. We will pass through small towns until we come across zebras, hyenas and other animals. After 3 hours of walking, we will stop for breakfast in the middle of the savannah. We will return by car to our accommodation. In the afternoon, we will go to do one of the star activities of the safari: Camping in the Mara River. An essential and unique activity that we can only do thanks to the Maasai. We’ll go to the river, watch the sun go down the back and the hippos come out of the water in a row. Sitting around, having a beer, we’ll see that show. When it gets dark we’ll go to our camping area, where the rest of the masais will wait for us making dinner. We’ll have dinner with them, sit by the bonfire until it’s bedtime. That night, we will sleep in the middle of the Maasai Mara in tents, and our Maasai warriors will keep watch until dawn.
Today we get up, have breakfast and William will take us to continue knowing one of his favorite corners of the Maasai Mara. We will stay all morning until we return to our accommodation to eat and rest. We will have the afternoon free, to play with the children if they leave their classes and have leisure time, read a book or simply digest, pause, everything we are living and learning.
Today we will head towards Lake Nakuru, on a journey of several hours, to see the beautiful Lake Nakuru located in the Rift Valley. Nakuru Lake, in addition to hundreds of birds, is a natural refuge for climbing lions, leopards, Rothschild giraffes, buffaloes and several primates.
Today we will take advantage of our last day of the 7-day Kenya safari through Nakuru Lake and Masai Mara to make a final half-day safari on Nakuru Lake. We will wake up in our beautiful accommodation overlooking the infinity of the African savannah, and we will head back to nature to enjoy, for the last time, the wildest nature, and all that no longer exists in Europe. At the agreed time, and according to the departure time of our return flight as well, we will start the way back to Nairobi. Our driver will drop us at the agreed point, airport or hotel.
