This safari through Amboseli National Park and the Maasai Mara allows us to visit two of the most important and beautiful parks and conservation areas in Kenya. It is a highly recommended safari because it mixes two of the most famous parks in the country (the Mara National Reserve and Amboseli) along with a conservation area (Lemek Conservancy). This allows us to see different realities when making the safari, from the more traditional safari in a park, to a much more unique and quiet safari that gives us the conservation area of Lemek, with a maximum of 15 cars a day doing safari in the whole area.
During the safari in Amboseli and the Maasai Mara we will be able to see the Big Five, such as elephants, lions, buffaloes, giraffes, cheetahs and many other animals in the wild.
The Amboseli National Park safari is our first stop on our 8-day Kenya safari. We will take a 4×4 vehicle and head towards Amboseli National Park. We will arrive at noon, just in time for a first visit outside the park, which can be a short walk or a visit to a Maasai girls’ foundation. During the next day we will have a full day safari in Amboseli National Park. Amboseli is a park famous for its views of Kilimanjaro and for its giant tusked elephants. In addition to elephants, on our safari in Amboseli we will be able to see lions, cheetahs, hyenas, and some of the more than 370 species of birds that inhabit the park. All this makes Amboseli one of the most famous national parks in Kenya.

After the first two days in the Amboseli area, we headed to the Masai Mara, Kenya’s largest and most famous ecosystem.
In the Masai Mara we will do several safaris in two areas, in the Mara National Reserve and in a conservation area. We will be able to see the differences between the Mara Reserve, where most of the tourism goes and the Lemek Conservancy, much less crowded where we can do other activities such as walking, see a beautiful sunset, and eat in the middle of the savannah.
During the first few days we will be staying very close to the National Reserve, in the lodge that belongs to the Maasai community and that dedicates its profits to the education of Maasai children and environmental conservation.
We will then head into the Lemek Conservation Area, inside the Masai Mara. This accommodation, owned by the NGO with which we collaborate, has glamping tents with private bathrooms. For three days, William and his Maasai guides will take us on a safari in the Maasai Mara where we will see the animals in a much more relaxed way. We will do activities that are not done in a traditional or tourist safari such as camping in the Mara River or a meal in the middle of the savannah. These are activities that can only be done on a safari like this one, since the Maasai live in this area and have permission to do activities that other tour operators cannot.
We will also visit the social projects that William’ s NGO has, such as the school or the village of Maasai women who live very close to our lodging.

During the 8 days of safari in Amboseli and the Masai Mara we will combine three different lodges. The first, in the Masai Mara, owned by an NGO and managed by Maasai, allocates all profits to the NGO’s social projects such as the school, where more than 300 children receive free education, or the women’s village, which the project helps with empowerment and micro-financing programs. We will sleep in typical safari tents, glamping type with bed and private bathroom. As we have mentioned before, on our safari in the Masai Mara we will spend a night camping near the Mara River, an unforgettable experience that we will always remember.

During the safari in Amboseli National Park we will be able to choose between two types of accommodation, one more economical and one more luxurious. The more upscale accommodation helps to finance the school that is right at the entrance of the park.

The price for the 8-day safari in Amboseli and the Maasai Mara is 2.950 euros per person traveling two adults and in Amboseli economy accommodation. Due to the fact that the prices of the accommodations vary constantly depending on the dates, it is important that before confirming the trip you send us the exact dates of your trip so that we can offer you the definitive price according to the dates and hotel selected .
You can opt to skip the safari in the Mara National Reserve and instead do a 7-day safari instead of 8. If we reduce the safari by one day, the price will drop to €2.650 (high season) and €2.590 (low season).

This safari through Amboseli and the Masai Mara begins in Nairobi, where one of our drivers will pick us up and take us to our first stop: Amboseli. Depending on our arrival time, we may have the chance to explore the park’s surroundings, from visiting a foundation that supports the education of Maasai girls to taking a short walking excursion around the park.
Today, we will have the entire day to enjoy an unforgettable safari in Amboseli National Park. Amboseli is a border park with Tanzania, home to the famous giant-tusked elephants and hundreds of bird species. We will explore its permanent swamps, which host the highest concentration of wildlife. Elephants love to play in these muddy areas, but we will also encounter groups of hippos, lions, zebras, giraffes, hyenas, and many more.
Today, we will spend the entire day on safari in the Maasai Mara National Reserve, one of the most famous parks in the world. If we coincide with the Great Migration (from July to October), we will see the park teeming with wildlife and witness one of the greatest natural spectacles on Earth. We can take the opportunity to try and see the famous wildebeest crossing at the Mara or Talek River. In the afternoon, we will return to our accommodation.
Today, we will move within the Maasai Mara and head to a conservation area—a much quieter place with only 15 vehicles allowed in the entire zone.
We will wake up, hop into the 4x4, and set off with the Maasai, who will guide us through their land and introduce us to the incredible wildlife that inhabits it. We’ll encounter lions, giraffes, elephants, cheetahs, hyenas, zebras, wildebeests, and more. It’s important to note that this area is a Conservation Area within the Maasai Mara ecosystem but outside the National Reserve. Here, you’ll find even more wildlife than in the reserve itself, as there is far less tourism, making the animals more relaxed. Additionally, the local community manages this area and benefits directly from each traveler who chooses to do a safari here—meaning your experience also supports the local people.
We will stop for lunch at the best restaurant in the world: beneath the shade of an acacia tree, overlooking the vast Mara plains. Our chefs will prepare a delicious meal, allowing us to enjoy the breathtaking scenery as we dine. This special moment, far from the crowds, allows us to connect deeply with nature.
After lunch, we will continue our safari through the Maasai Mara.
On our sixth day of safari in the Maasai Mara, we will visit one of the NGO’s community projects: the women’s village. This village is home to women who have been expelled from their families for various reasons. The NGO provides them and their children with a safe place to live, as well as tools to help them earn a living through handicrafts and other initiatives. During our visit, we will see how they live and have the opportunity to purchase Maasai crafts handmade by the women themselves.
Important note: The money from each purchase goes directly to the woman who made the craft, and prices are non-negotiable. This is crucial because, in many places in Kenya and Tanzania, money from similar visits is often divided among multiple people, with the women receiving very little or nothing at all. Here, every craft sold directly benefits the woman who created it.
After lunch, we will experience one of the highlights of our entire safari: camping by the Mara River. We will go on a game drive before heading to the river, a favorite spot of our guide. As the sun begins to set, we will witness hippos emerging from the water in a perfectly organized line, one after the other.
As night falls, we will head to our campsite, where the rest of the Maasai will be waiting for us with a campfire and our tents ready. We will enjoy a delicious dinner in this unique setting, surrounded by nature and accompanied by the best Maasai warriors.
We wake up in the heart of the Maasai Mara and enjoy breakfast before setting off on a guided walking safari along the river with William. This hike through the savanna will allow us to experience the wilderness up close. Since we’ll be heading out early, there’s a high chance of spotting predators in action. We’ll spend the entire morning on safari before returning to the lodge for lunch.
In the afternoon, we’ll visit a Rhino Sanctuary, home to endangered rhinos that are under constant threat from poachers. Due to the high risk of extinction, these rhinos are protected 24/7 by dedicated rangers.
Later, we’ll witness one of the most breathtaking sunsets in the world—right in the middle of the Maasai Mara. Just us, the Maasai, and the wildlife around us, in complete tranquility.
